You're invited to join our growing program! The Midland Explorers Travel Baseball Organization focuses on teaching sport-specific fundamentals, dedication, selflessness, personal confidence and community service. We look to attract talented, driven players and families who are coachable and have a “team first” attitude, as well as knowledgeable coaches with playing experience and integrity.
We ARE NOT a win-at-all-cost program. We ARE a family with high expectations of all members, including parents. For players, specifically, this includes: the will to improve; the motivation to play hard, the desire to be a good teammate; and the character to win and lose with equal grace.
If you’d like your son to play against advanced competition, to be coached by those with high-level experience and share in the ideal that baseball can help prepare boys to become responsible young men, please complete the online registration to tryout for a 2023 Explorers Baseball team. Thank you!
All teams tryouts held on Wednesday, July 27th at Plymouth Park in Midland. Check-in at 5:30pm, tryout starts at 6:00pm sharp.

- Will Midland Explorers Baseball have a 2023 team that isn't listed on the tryout flyer?

If you're interested in a team/age that we currently do not offer, please send a message to email@example.com
- What is the philosophy and/or approach for your organization?
Our philosophy is twofold - Youth Development ages 8-12 and Next Level Prep ages 13+ once physical maturity has evened. We approach our younger teams with the goals of development and experience. At the 8 and 9u level it is all about growing the core group of the team and playing more baseball outside and in cooperation with your recreational league. As players and teams, our main goal is to develop your player to be his absolute best at 16-18 years old, when most crucial for next level play. We do this by providing quality training and instruction throughout their young baseball careers. The older age teams advance their tournament schedules according to the caliber of the team. Our older age teams can compete against the top competition in the region as a result of our process.
- Are you a coach/team looking for a new organization?
As mentioned above, we are always looking to add teams if the conditions are right. If you are a coach or are a part of a group that are looking for a change, send us a message to set up an interview/conversation. We want to grow as a program and are looking for good people to grow it with!
- When is the regular season and when do you practice?
Travel baseball season is from Aug 1 - July 31. We play outdoor tournaments April-July with an occasional indoor in Winter months. We practice a few times in the fall and begin our off-season training in November/December. The older teams practice more in the off-season with static practice times at SVSU fieldhouse, Tri-City Sports Complex and/or Midland Civic Arena Turf. Our static hitting training and home base for practice is at Baseball Heaven in Midland.
- What if my player also plays other sports? Will that hurt his playing time for baseball?
Simply put, No. We encourage our players to also play other sports along with baseball. Our off season training can cooperate with other sports scheduling.
- What if I can't make the tryout date/time?
Email firstname.lastname@example.org with your information and we will do our best to accommodate a private tryout with the appropriate coach/team.
- Finally, Why would I want my player to be an Explorer?
Tradition. Training. Success.
Tradition. There is great deal of tradition that comes with being an Explorer. The Midland Explorers Fastpitch Softball teams of the 1980's/1990's and Emerson Park were the mecca of the fastpitch world with many people in Midland remembering the legacy of Explorers Fastpitch. We are proud to continue that tradition today with the Lady Explorers Softball program and Legacy Explorers Softball program.
Training. Our coaching staff develops each player and team with an outlined process and schedule. We offer position specific training along with access to instructors and facilities all times of year.
Success. In only 4 years, we have branded Explorers Baseball to be the best in the area with numerous ranked teams and consistently competing against top teams in the Midwest at top venues/facilities. There are various teams/organizations you can choose to play for, if you want to play with the best, come be an Explorer.

Instruction and Development are at the roots of every youth sports organization. But how each program approaches them can be very different. Our goal is to develop each and every Explorers Baseball player by providing high quality coaching and instruction to our teams.
Jeff is a former baseball player at Central Michigan University, in 2017 was named to the USA Men’s National Fast Pitch Team and operates RISE Softball Midwest which has helped place 300+ college softball players.
As the Explorers Baseball Hitting Coach, Jeff will be working directly with ALL Explorers players during their off season hitting practices. Although outside private instruction is available, our goal is to have Jeff work as the hitting coach to all of our teams during their already designated hitting times.
If there is anyone in the Midland area that you want working with your kid on hitting... It's Jeff Nowaczyk with Explorers Baseball.
